Remembering the Jackson, Nebraska Tornado

A patron called the reference desk of the South Sioux City Public Library with a request for information on the Jackson, Nebraska Tornado on August 17th, 2001. The following is a list of some of the interesting links that were discovered during our search.

The following is a link to photos taken by FEMA of the damage the tornado had done on the town.

The National Weather Service wrote a report on the Results of the Jackson Nebraska Tornado Damage Survey.

CNN gave national coverage to the tornado, in which many of the village's residents had to be evacuated.

Finally, CNN later carried a story in which a woman lost her wedding ring during the tornado, only to find it on the carburetter of one of the family's vehicles during the cleanup.
