Ben Carroll in Concert
Ben Carroll brings his unique brand of urban soul to the Library on Thursday March 31st at 7 p.m.
Ben Carroll has deep musical roots. His parents Jon Carroll and Margot Chapman were part of Starland Vocal Band, which hit number one with Afternoon Delight. He grew up listening to music from the Stax and Motown label. It is no wonder that his music finds itself at the corner of James Taylor and Stevie Wonder.
With the help of his accomplished acoustic guitar playing, Carroll moves his audiences with songwriting, written from the heart and with a thoughtful, sometimes keen eye, while exploring the endless themes of love, of a search for a place and meaning in the world. Carroll has steadily toured North America and Europe as a solo act since 2004. He released his debut solo album Lover Undercover in 2005 and his follow-up Real Thing in 2007 (on UK label Blue Cloud Records), which was #1 for five weeks on AAA FM Radio in Ohio and was played on over fifty radio stations in the US and Europe.
The concert is free to the public a freewill donation of $10 is appreciated. CDs will be sold by the artist at the end of the show.
