March is going out like a lion at the South Sioux City Public Library, 2121 Dakota Avenue, South Sioux City Nebraska. We are roaring with activities.
Thursday night is our big evening to roar with Gotta Keep Reading (Through, Art, Music & Theatre) March 31st from 5 to 7 p.m. Lewis & Clark Elementary School is sponsoring the event as part of Music in the Classroom Month.
5:30-Story Hour (teachers/community members will choose some of their favorite books to share with students)
6:00-Music performance by fireplace
6:30-Puppet Theater presented by Benji Cotter.
Student art will be on display throughout the library. Refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome.
The fun will continue with a concert by Ben Carroll, at 7:00 p.m. Ben Carroll's soulful, powerful voice lives somewhere at the crossroads of Stevie Wonder and James Taylor--he's captivating, distinctive, mesmerizing. This concert is for the entire family. There is no charge for this event, but a $10 donation to the artist is appreciated.
Marci Broyhill, then kicks-off April with a cowboy poetry presentation entitled Grandma’s Trunk. Grandma's Trunk is a personal story about growing-up in an agricultural community. She will be showing items she collected from her own grandmother. Grandma’s Trunk will be on Friday night April 1st at 7:00 p.m.
Monday March 28th night at 6 p.m.the library will have a Special Movie Presentation, a movie about the origins of the Barnum and Bailey Circus.
On Wednesday night March 30th at 6 p.m. we have B Movie Night at the Bijou. In this month’s installment a man discovers that he is not nearly as big as he thinks.
