Keep Your New Year's Resolutions at the Library

Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions @ the Library offers a list of the most popular resolutions.  It is no surprise that the library is a great way to keep those resolutions you make.

Spend more time with family and friends.  This is listed as the most popular resolution we can make.  It is also a very good thing to do.  You may bring your preschool child to the library for Preschool Story Time on Tuesday morning at 10am and on Wednesday at 4pm.  You and your littlest book lovers will enjoy Pat-a-Cake Story Time on Thursday night at 10am.  This week we offer Spanish Family Story Time at 6:30pm.  You and your toddlers will love Toddler Time each Friday at 10am.

Fit in Fitness:  While we do not have exercise classes, we do have some great collection of materials on fitness.  The following are just a few:  What’s Age got to do with It? : Living Your Healthiest and Happiest Life by Robin McGraw; The Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises by Adam Campbell; and  The Men’s Health Big Book of Exercises by Adam Campbell.

Tame the Bulge:  More and more of us fight this battle every day.  The following are some cookbooks that will help you to cook more healthy meals:  America’s Most Wanted Recipes without the Guilt by Ron Douglas; The WeightWatcher’s Complete Cookbook; Raw Food:  a Complete Guide for Every Meal of the Day by Erica Palmcrantz; Low Fat, Low Cholesterol Cookbook from the American Heart Association and The Lean Belly Prescription by Travis Stork.

Get Out of Debt:  Recovering from the holiday spending binge of December makes us more than willing to get out of debt.  The following are some books on personal finance:  Clark Howard’s Living Large in Lean Times by Clark Howard, The Road Out of Debt:  bankruptcy and other solutions to your financial problems by Joan Feeney, In Cheap We Trust:  The Story of a Misunderstood American Virtue by Lauren Weber, What Color is Your Parachute for Retirement by John E. Nelson.

Learn Something New:  A new year is a new opportunity to learn and grow.  The library offers technology classes to jump-start your learning.

Windows Basics 3:  Tues. Jan 3,   6pm Windows Basic 3: Did you know that you can Aero Peek, Snap and Shake on your computer? If you don't know what we am talking about, stop in and let us show you some new ways of working with Windows to make it more productive.

Know Your Computer:  Wed. Jan 4, 11am Know Your Computer:  Would you like to learn the very basics of your computer? How about increase you computer vocabulary? This class will teach the very basics of computer knowledge. It will let you feel confident in knowing what all the components are on your computer.

Create a Newsletter on Publisher:  Wed. Jan 4, 2pm Create a Newsletter: Microsoft Publisher 2 covers how to use Microsoft Publisher to create a newsletter.
