SSC Library Offers Mango Language Services
The South Sioux City Public Library has added Mango Languages to its list of database offerings. `
Mango uses real-life situations and actual conversations to more effectively teach a new language. By listening to and repeating after material designed from native conversations, you'll not only learn the individual words and phrases, you'll know how they're used in practical situations and conversations. You'll learn more than grammar, vocabulary and conjugation, you'll learn how to communicate.
All one needs to access Mango is a South Sioux City Public Library card. You will use your card to create an account. Mango will send the subscriber a confirmation email to which the user will need to respond. After the initial creation, you will be able to access Mango with your email and password.
English speakers will be able to learn languages from Arabic to Vietnamese. Mango also has programs so that speakers of several various languages will be able to learn English.
Along with courses in learning a new language, Mango has a translation tool in which you can put text of one language into the translator and get a textual translation in another language.
To begin using Mango, get your library card and go to www.southsiouxcity.org/library and create your account. If you have questions about Mango contact Dave Mixdorf or Dan Nieman at 402-494-7545 for more details.
