What is Heritage Quest?

Heritage Quest is an online database that is used to search genealogical records.  Heritage Quest contains six specific databases.  First it has US Census records from 1790-1930.  Secondly, you can search people and places described in over 28,000 family and local histories.  Thirdly the PERSI database allows users to search 2.3 million journal and local history articles.

The Revolutionary War database allows users to search Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files.  The Freeman’s Bank Database contains records of African-American who used the service from 1865-1874.

Finally, the United States Congressional Serial Set, commonly referred to as the Serial Set, began publication with the 15th Congress, 1st Session (1817). Heritage Quest Online includes Private Relief Actions, Memorials, and Petitions from the Serial Set. The collection also includes content from the American State Papers, the predecessor to the Serial Set. The documents in the collection are from the years 1789-1969.
