Keep Your New Years’ Resolutions at the Library
Many of us make resolutions on January 1st, but we forget them by January 15th. The library is a great place to start keeping those resolutions.
Learn About Computers and Computer Gadgets: Many of us promise ourselves that we will learn a little more about the computer; this week’s classes will help you do just that.
Blogging Basics: This class is held on Monday, January 7th at 1:00 p.m. In Blogging Basics we explain what blogs are, free blogging software the basics of how to start a blog and develop content.
Windows Basics 2: If you have already completed Windows Basics 1, this class will learn more about the Start Menu, where you can launch any programs installed on your computer and also search for files (pictures, videos and music) we’ll also demonstrate how to "pin" your favorite programs to the Start Menu or Taskbar. Windows Basics 2 is held on Monday January 7th at 5:00 p.m.
Microsoft Word 3: If you have completed Microsoft Word 1 and 2, you are ready to tackle Microsoft Word 3, we will learn about bullets, undo/redo, setting margins, page numbers, page breaks, headers/footers and print preview and printing your document. This class is held on January 7th, at 6:30 p.m.
Know Your Computer: Would you like to learn the very basics of your computer? How about increase you computer vocabulary? This class will teach the very basics of computer knowledge. It will let you feel confident in knowing what all the components are on your computer. Know Your Computer is held on Tuesday January 8th, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Yahoo Messenger: With Yahoo Messenger you can text and do video chat with friends and family near and far. Learn more about Yahoo Messenger on Tuesday January 8th at 11:00 a.m.
E-Book Readers: Learn how to use that new e-book reader or tablet to download and read e-books. This class will be held on Tuesday January 8th, at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday January 9th at 3:00 p.m. and Thursday January 10th at 6:00 p.m.
Microsoft Excel 1: Trying to make a spreadsheet? Need a little starting guidance? We can help. We will teach all about the worksheets in Excel, how to move around the worksheet, all about the cells in the worksheet (cut copy paste) inserting rows/columns, and saving all your hard work. This class is held on Tuesday January 8th at 4:00 p.m.
Facebook Basics: This class will help you get up to speed on how to create, use and maintain a Facebook page of your own and understanding the privacy policies and settings. This is held on Wednesday January 9th at 2:00 p.m.
Job and Career Accelerator: Are you looking for a job? Need help updating your resume? Then this is your class. Learn how to use this library database to search and apply for jobs in the
United States. This program allows you to create a resume and cover
letters that are adapted to the type of job you are looking for. This class is held on Wednesday January 9th
at 5:00 p.m.
Pinterest Basics: Pinterest let’s subscribers organize and share the beautiful things they find on the web. Pinterest Basics teaches attendees how to get started and what to do with their Pinterest account. Pinterest Basic Classes are held on Wednesday January 9th at 6:30 p.m.
Learn the Library Webpage: Learn everything that you have available on the library web page. How to renew books, how to search for jobs, find out important information, what books your favorite author has written. All this information will be revealed and more.
This class is held on Thursday January 10th at 4:00 p.m.
Tech Thursday: If you received a new computer or computer gadget, stop by the library on January 10th at 5:00 p.m. and let us answer your technology questions.
