Tangled Yarns and Crazy Quilts at the Library

The following article was posted in the print version of the Dakota County Star newspaper.

Tangled Yarns has existed for only a short time, but it is one of the most popular programs this year.  They meet each Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. where they work on projects, share ideas and mentor one another in various textile crafts.

Highway 12 Outlaw Trail Byway Quilt Show: The Highway 12 Outlaw Trail quilt show will be held on October 11-13.  You are invited to participate by donating quits to display, volunteering to help set up the Quilt show and becoming part of the committee to recruit others to participate in the Quilt Show. If you are not a quilt maker, mention the Byway quilt show to those who are.

Real to Reel Movie:  With a new baseball season around the corner, Real to Reel is showing a movie starring Clint Eastwood that we believe will be a hit.  In this film, Gus Lobel has been one of the best scouts in baseball for decades, but, despite his efforts to hide it, age is starting to catch up with him. Nevertheless, Gus--who can tell a pitch just by the crack of the bat--refuses to be benched for what may be the final innings of his career. The one person who might be able to help is also the one person Gus would never ask: his daughter, Mickie, an associate at a high-powered Atlanta law firm.  This movie is repeated on March 16th at 2:00 p.m.
