The following is the library's weekly column published by the Dakota County Star.

Memorial Day Weekend Begins at the Library

Memorial Day, Monday May 27th, marks the beginning of the summer travel season.  The library has the tools you need for the holiday season.

Audio books:  Audio books are excellent company when you are on a trip.  Some of our newest titles are: Six Years by Harlan Coben; Nano by Robin Cook;  A Step of Faith by Richard Paul Evans; Paris by Edward Rutherford; and  Tenth of December by George Saunders.  You may also want to download audio books from Nebraska Overdrive Libraries http://nebraska.lib.overdrive.com/.

Music on CD:  If you prefer music to talk, the following are some of the latest music CDs available at the library: Set You Free from Gary Alan; Pioneer from The Band Perry; Caught in the Act by Eric Church; Need You Now from Plumb; and Based on a True Story by Blake Shelton.

Picnic and Barbecue Books:  If you are not traveling, you may want to have a picnic or barbecue.  The following are a few of the new cookbooks we have added to the collection: BBQ Sauces, Rubs and Marinades for Dummies by Traci Cumbay; The United States Cookbook by Joan D’ Amico; Serious Barbecue: Smoke, Char, Baste, and Brush Your Way to Great Outdoor Cooking by Alan Perry Lange; Smokin’ with Myron Mixon: Recipes Made Simple from the Winningest Man in Barbecue by Myron Mixon; and The Asian Barbecue Book by Alex Skaria.
