Celebrate National Poetry Month at the Library
E-book Reader: Monday April 21st at 3:00 p.m. Covers what an e-Book reader is and provides hands on demonstration of some of the different kinds. Also teaches how to use Overdrive, a way to get e-Books through the Library. This class is repeated on Monday at 6:00 p.m.,
QR Codes for Business: Monday April 21st 5:30 p.m. Discover the value of QR Codes for your business. Discover how the use of QR Codes can be used to attract attention to your business, inform prospective clients of products and services available from your business and increase your profits.
SSC Scribes will meet on Monday April 21st at 6:00 p.m. Join us for a fun time of learning to write together.
Cowboy Poetry Book Talk: April is National Poetry Month. To celebrate poetry we will offer a book talk on Cowboy Poetry. Dan Nieman will discuss talk about the history of cowboy poetry; it’s collection to western movies, music, and stories, featuring the materials we have in our collection. This program is on Monday April 21st at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., and Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Setting up an E-mail Account: Tuesday April 22 at2:00 p.m. If you never have had an email account this is the class for you. Learn about the different free email service that is very easy to sign-up for and use.
Microsoft Excel 2: Tuesday April 22 at 3:00 p.m. Did you know that Excel has a way to input math calculations right on your worksheet? There are ways to edit the cells in the worksheet such as alignments, borders, font changes, background, etc.
Yahoo Messenger: Tuesday April 22 at 4:00 p.m. Do you have friends or family that live so far away you never get to see them. Yahoo Messenger provides you the opportunity to keep in contact with them for free. Yahoo Messenger is a free instant messaging program that allows you to visually see, talk to and even send text messages to individuals all over the world. This class will teach you how to set up an account and what type of equipment you will need for your computer.
Microsoft Word 1: Tuesday April 22 at 5:30 p.m. We want you to become familiar with Microsoft Word 2007, so to begin we will start with basic terminology, how to accomplish everyday tasks such as creating a new document, saving a document, spell checking, change text and printing.
Power Point 1: Wednesday April 23rd at 5:30 p.m. Learn how to navigate between the different views in PowerPoint. Discover different templates, drawing tools, and slide master. Attendees will create a brief PowerPoint presentation.
Windows 3: Thursday April 24th at 10:00 a.m. Did you know that you can Aero Peek, Snap and Shake on your computer? If you don’t know what we am talking about, stop in and let us show you some new ways of working with Windows to make it more productive
Publisher 1: Thursday April 24th at 11:00 a.m. Microsoft Publisher is a basic course covering the types of documents that can be created, how to modify templates and how to insert text and images.
Publisher 2: Thursday April 24th at 2:00 p.m. Learn how to use and modify Microsoft Publisher templates.
Publisher 3: Thursday April 24th at 3:30 p.m. learn how to create a variety of documents using Microsoft Publisher.
Tech Thursday: Thursday April 24th at 5:00 p.m. bring your technology questions to this class. We will help you to find the answers.
