Baseball’s All-Star game plays this week. ON July 14th Dan Nieman will give a talk entitled the Nebraska All Stars at 6:30 p.m. During the discussion, we will cover the lives of “Wahoo” Sam Crawford and Grover Cleveland Alexander to Joba Chamberlain and Alex Gordon.

Real to Reel Movie: The Real to Reel Movie will be held on Tuesday July 15th at 6:30 p.m. This movie is set in
Los Angeles in the slight future, Theodore, a
complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching personal letters for
other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes
intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an
intuitive and unique entity in its own right. Upon initiating it, he is
delighted to meet "Samantha", a bright, female voice who is
insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in
tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each
E-book Readers (Monday July 14th 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m., Tuesday July 15th at 12:30 p.m., and Thursday at 6:00 p.m.): Covers what an e-Book reader is and provides hands on demonstration of some of the different kinds. Also teaches how to use Overdrive, a way to get e-Books through the Library.
Microsoft Word 2 Monday Jly 15th at 5:00 p.m.): We will add to our knowledge from Word 1 and expand a little bit more. We will discuss the ruler, indents & tabs, insert/overtype, cut and paste, using the clipboard, and paragraph styles.
Microsoft Word 1 (Tuesday July 15th at 10:00 a.m.: We want you to become familiar with Microsoft Word 2007, so to begin we will start with basic terminology, how to accomplish everyday tasks such as creating a new document, saving a document, spell checking, change text and printing.
Windows Basics 3 (Tuesday July 15th at 2:00 p.m.): Did you know that you can Aero Peek, Snap and Shake on your computer? If you don’t know what we am talking about, stop in and let us show you some new ways of working with Windows to make it more productive.
Microsoft Excel 1(Tuesday July 15th at 3:00 p.m.): Trying to make a spreadsheet? Need a little starting guidance? We can help. We will teach all about the worksheets in Excel, how to move around the worksheet, all about the cells in the worksheet (cut copy paste) inserting rows/columns, and saving all your hard work.
Microsoft Excel 2 (Tuesday July 15th at 4:00 p.m.): Did you know that Excel has a way to input math calculations right on your worksheet? There are ways to edit the cells in the worksheet such as alignments, borders, font changes, background, etc.
Clean Up Your Computer (Thursday July 17th at 10:00 a.m.): Is your computer running slower? Do pop-ups keep appearing? Does your computer randomly crash or freezes up? Then this may be the class for you. Clean up Your Computer shows you how to maintain your computer on both the outside and the inside. Learn what basic procedures and what free software you can use to improve the performance of your computer.
Learn Your Library Web Page (Thursday July 17th at 11:00 a.m.): Learn everything that you have available on the library web page. How to renew books, how to search for jobs, find out important information, what books your favorite author has written. All this information will be revealed and more.
Microsoft Publisher 3 (Thursday July 17th at 2:00 p.m.): Learn how to create a variety of documents using Microsoft Publisher.
Tech Thursday (Thursday July 17th at 5:00 p.m.): If you have questions about your personal technology, the staff of the South Sioux City Public Library will help you find answers.
