Singer/songwriter Aaron English will perform a concert at the South Sioux City Public Library, 2121 Dakota Avenue, South Sioux City, Nebraska, on Thursday September 10th at 6:30 p.m.
Aaron English stands astride many genres of music: adult contemporary, progressive rock, singer/songwriter, to world beat/fusion rock. When he released his first album in 2002 it was released on Progrock Records, All the Waters of the World, had many comparing him to Peter Gabriel. In his second album The Marriage of the Sun and the Moon, saw him moving closer to adult contemporary, but kept some of his art rock edge. His 2010 recording, American [Fever] Dream, found him moving even closer to the adult contemporary genre.
In an episode of the Fox TV drama Bones, a character made a mix of “the six greatest break-up songs” and gave it to a heart-broken colleague. The mix featured songs from alternative-pop stars such as Sia, Mazzy Star, José González, Antony and the Johnsons…and a lone unsigned artist by the name of Aaron English. The song Lion’s Den from the Aaron English Band is in the new science fiction feature film E.T.X.R.
Aaron is back from a summer tour of Africa and is doing an acoustic tour through the Midwest United States this fall. The South Sioux City Public Library is pleased to host him for this concert.
